[/PTab][PTab=Threads]Threads are what keep the site moving. Without them, a site would be literally nothing. On 'The Masked' there are 2 different types of threads that members can put their characters on. See the list below.
Within these two types of threads, people can do a multitude of things. They can travel the city in their "super suit" looking for crimes to stop, look for heroes to attack, be at school in civilian clothes, or go to Starbucks!
If someone doesn't post within +3 days, then the participants may choose if they want to skip the person who's not posting's turn. You cannot skip someone's post unless it has been 3 days or more, unless it is discussed where someone's turn is being skipped by that same person.
[/PTab][PTab=Stats and EXP]
On 'The Masked' there are different stats set up so you can make your characters stronger in some aspects while weaker in others, or be equal in all, to set up diversity.
HP:
HP, meaning Health Points, is the combination of Strength and Endurance. The more HP someone has, the more damage they can take before they die.
MP:
MP, meaning Mental Points, is the combination of Agility and Accuracy. The more MP someone has, the quicker their brain reacts and the better reflexes and quick thinking they have as well.
Strength:
How much your character can pick up and how hard your character can punch!
Endurance:
How much stamina your character has, the longer they can stay in a battle without passing out from exhaustion.
Agility:
How quick your character is on their feet and with their attacks.
Accuracy:
How good of an aim the character has.
The max level for all of these stats is 100, excluding bonuses from abilities.
[/PTab][PTab=Abilities and SP]
There are two forms of increasing skill on this site though, there is Exp which upgrades stats and there is SP which is the stat that you use to gain new powers. You can get 3 SP for every 5 posts you have in a thread, if you get 4 and end the thread there you don't get an SP for that 4 or if you post 1 more time in a different thread. It has to be 5 posts in the same thread. In groups it counts as the group, one individual doesn't have to have 5, if the group has 5 posts combined than they will all get 3 SP.
All abilities can be learned through SP, but some skills are more expensive than others. Abilities are split into 5 tiers, each one costing a different amount of SP. The costs are listed below.
*Although there is no system for it. It's generally understood that most abilities drain physical energy from the user, the more a move is used the less energetic they are and the more tired they become. The more powerful the move, the more energy it takes. Don't spam moves and act like you can endlessly use them with no repercussions, there are draw backs.
[/PTab][PTab=Ranks]
There are two ranks: Basic and Advanced
Basic: start out with 0 SP and IP, start with 1 ability of the 2nd tier, 1 tier 1 item and 11 exp. This can also work where you have 2 tier 1 abilities as well. Basics are side-kicks, henchmen and lower bounty hunters.
Advanced: start out with 0 SP and 0 IP, 5 abilities of tier 3 or lower, or 1 tier 4 ability and nothing else, 1 tier 2 item, and 25 exp. Advanced are real heroes, villains, and assassins.
*If a character starts off with no items they can start off with 6 IP, this doesn't apply to SP.
[/PTab][PTab=Items]
IP is the currency used to buy items, and you earn it like this: 3 posts = 1 IP. When describing a custom item that has implied multiples (ex. marbles, etc.) you must specify how many of these multiples are within the item itself (ex. marbles = 5 multiples).
[/PTab]
[PTab=Arena]This is the location where no rules apply! If your character dies here, you can still use them in the real world, because this location is apart from the real universe. It's used for fighting and fighting only, and you can make specific threads where certain things don't apply such as gravity, or no weaknesses to fire (for example). None of this affects the real world, and you can get the same amount of EXP, SP, and IP from these threads as real threads.
[/PTab][PTab=Voting Rewards]
If you vote here at Top RolePlay Sites, and at the end of the month we reach 20 votes everyone will receive 2 Exp, 2 SP, and 2 IP. You can vote daily, and if we get 40 votes everyone will receive 4 Exp, 4 SP, and 4 IP, and so on.

- Don't act like a mod, you can help other members on the site, but you hold no authority over any other.
- No racist, sexist, homophobic, or other derogatory slurs will be tolerated on 'The Masked'.
- No porn, posting any 18+ material, visual or otherwise, will result in an instant banning of the account. If you're unsure if the material is 18+ or not, ask a staff member.
- No posting sick things, such as animal or child abuse.
- Never demand for things, if you deserve it than the staff will give it to you, but the more you ask the less likely you are to get whatever you're asking for.
- Enjoy yourself on 'The Masked'.
- No powergaming; this involves controlling another's character, as well as playing your character beyond their ability. If you are unsure wither or not an action counts as powergaming, ask a mod.
- No metagaming; this means your character should not magically have knowledge of things, just because you have it.
- When posting in threads with other people, please be patient and wait for others to post instead of rushing ahead. In threads of 2-3, it is socially acceptable to skip a persons "turn" when they haven't posted for at least 3 days, unless agreed otherwise with the players themselves. In groups of 4+, the order can be more mixed, but we'd like to see that a person waits for at least 2 posts to be done before he posts again, if not agreed otherwise.
- If your character should be so unfortunate, unlucky, or plain stupid to die, your character will be lost.
- Characters may only be at one place on the city map at once.
- All in-character posts should be written in third person, past tense.
- All IC posts should be a minimum of 100 words.
- This world is a mix between DC Comics and Marvel Comics in the way that you can have powers from both, but all characters are custom. If a character is too similar to a known superhero then they won't be accepted. Also, all the locations in this world will either be based off of custom made locations, no known landmarks in either of these comics. Ex. Justice League or Avengers Helicopter.
- A member can have as many character as they want, but you can only start out with 1 and you cannot make another one until you make 15 posts with that character. Once you get 15 posts with one character you can make another, and so on.
[/PTab][PTab=Threads]Threads are what keep the site moving. Without them, a site would be literally nothing. On 'The Masked' there are 2 different types of threads that members can put their characters on. See the list below.
- Groups: Groups are threads that include 2 or more people. To encourage interaction, all characters in a Group gets +1 free exp point for each person above two present in the thread. Besides this, they get anything from 1 to 5 EXP, based on how well the thread is played and how many posts there are.
- Singles: Singles are like Groups, except done alone and without a bonus, with 5 being the maximum. Instead they can be used for character development when needed. Singles get anything from 1 to 5 EXP, based on how well the thread is played and how many posts there are.
Within these two types of threads, people can do a multitude of things. They can travel the city in their "super suit" looking for crimes to stop, look for heroes to attack, be at school in civilian clothes, or go to Starbucks!
